The
plant is found throughout India and in most tropical countries.
It is common in waste lands, on roadsides and in the forests.
Root bark in used for preparation of the medicine. It has been
used by ancient Indian physicians for its efficacy in respiratory
disorders. Dr. B.K. Basu has proved this drug on himself. He
has also recommended in common cold and asthma.
